19th Street Community Garden Outreach
At-a-Glance
Under the impactful umbrella of the California Climate Action Corp, I forged a solid partnership with the City of Santa Monica's Office of Sustainability and Environment for an extensive period of 8 months. During this time, I played a pivotal role in their recently approved community garden project, spearheading community outreach and leading workshop meetings with unwavering commitment. Moreover, I had the opportunity to work with their Resource Recovery and Recycling Division, leading city outreach for tabling events and their innovative big-belly trash trucks.
Problem
Following the recent approval of the 19th Street community garden in Santa Monica, it's imperative to promptly inform and engage the local community about this significant advancement.
👉 Without assertive outreach initiatives, there's a tangible risk of inadequate participation and engagement from community members in pivotal garden-related activities, including planning meetings, workshops, and volunteer opportunities.
Solution
Crafting visually captivating and informative flyers and postcards served to entice community involvement in garden workshops.during their zoo visit.
🚀 These materials not only grabbed attention but also provided essential details, fostering active engagement and participation in the project.
